KARACHI: Find out that whether any appeal against order of the Collector Customs (Appeals) has been filed or not, asked an appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed while putting off further proceedings till March 21.

The bench was hearing a constitutional petition filed by one Muhammad Umer who imported 900 mobiles.

It was a case of compliance of orders, submitted Ms Dil Khurram Shaeen advocate, counsel for the petitioner. She submitted that the petitioner has submitted each and every document relevant to the consignment and asked for by the Custom officials. Following submission of the documents, Collector Customs has vacated the show cause issued to the petitioner, she maintained.

The counsel representing department on his turn expressed ignorance about the order of the Collector of Customs (Appeals) and sought time to find out the actual position.

The bench acceding to the request fixed March 21 for further hearing while asking the counsel to find out that whether Collector Customs’ order was appealed or not.
