KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed on Friday hearing two identical constitution petitions ordered release of the consignments of petitioners MF Traders and Master International against payment of customs duty, taxes etc.
Earlier Talal Tariq advocate of Franklin Law Associates technically briefed by CEO Faisal Ghani submitted that these two petitions are also identical to hundreds of other petitions in which legality of enhancement by Director General, Customs Valuation in revision applications were challenged.
The bench asked Masooda Siraj advocate, counsel for Customs Valuation that whether the issues in these petition is identical to the leading petition 4796 of 2016 in which the SHC has passed an order on 9-9-2016.
As the reply was in affirmative, the bench allowed the release of goods as per orders passed earlier while directed the office to tag these petitions also with leading petition.
