KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Mahmood A Khan on Thursday, issued notices to the Customs Appraisement for June 20 in a petition filed by Abbas Ahmed, importer of a consignment of wire cutting scrap from China.
Zia-ul-Hasan advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that it was an issue of classification as Custom officials have no objection to 40 tones of the consignment but are disputing the 12 tones being “serviceable item”. He prayed to the court to the court to appoint a commissioner or Nazir to inspect and carry out inspection with custom officials.
The bench after hearing initial arguments issued notices to the respondent Collectorate for June 20.
