KARACHI: In a rare turn of events, a divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Mahmood A Khan which earlier reserved judgment in a petition challenging ban on screening of controversial film “Malik”, reheard and reserve the verdict again.
Additional Attorney General appearing before the bench today said that federal government has no objection if the “objectionable and controversial parts” of the film are deleted. He submitted that some portions were removed before screening of the film in Sindh but were added again in remaining three provinces including Punjab, KPK and Balochistan.
Barrister Farogh A Naseem said that film criticizes the tax evaders and corrupt politicians and that is why they are opposing the screening of the film tooth and nail.
The bench after re-hearing reserved the judgment again.
