KARACHI: On the special directives of Imtiaz Ahmad khan, DG Customs Intelligence Islamabad, the Director of Customs Intelligence Quetta Irfan-ur-Rehman has stepped up its effort to crack down on contrabands/narcotics smuggling and has seized large quantity of foreign origin narcotics

The operation is supervised by Deputy Collector Inamullah Wazir. The seized goods include of 7.0 KG of Heroin and 250 KG Cannabis powder (charas/Garda). The narcotics were recovered through a special operation conducted near Saranan area on Chaman-Quetta road.

The narcotics were artfully concealed in the secret cavities of a car having registration number AAH 367.  The market value of the seized narcotics in the international market is estimated to be Rs. 150 million.

A case has been registered and investigation is under way to unearth the smuggling gang behind this nefarious activity. It is highlighted here this is the second seizure case of the Customs Intelligence Quetta in less than a week.

Earlier, the Customs Intelligence Quetta had seized 570 KG of Hashish (Charas)  from a bus on Quetta- Karachi highway on 30th December 2015.
