KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence & Investigation Hyderabad has seized large quantity of smuggled cigarettes, gutka and other miscellaneous goods and detained four persons for verification.
Director Intelligence and Investigation, Lutfullah Virk had this information, Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan and Deputy Director Amjad Rajpar conducted the entire operation.
In a joint operation with Pakistan Rangers, Field Intelligence Unit MCC Hyderabad intercepted/seized a vehicle (truck) bearing registration No. TKJ-858 loaded with non-duty paid/smuggled Gutkha, cigarettes with other miscellaneous good.
The seized goods worth Rs10.655 million include assorted brands of foreign origin Gutka worth Rs5.49 million; 68,500 packets of cigarette including Royal brand of England, Pride brand of Germany and Dunhill brand of USA, worth Rs2.755 million.
