ISLAMABAD: A full bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah dismissed plea for interim relief in Horizon case while fixing the main appeal for a decisive hearing on Feb 06.

The bench was hearing a number of appeals filed by Pakistan Customs assailing the judgment passed by the Customs Tribunal, which allowed the appeals filed by the importers of grey fabric. The SHC bench while deciding the petitions filed by the importers ordered Pakistan Customs to release the consignments detained on pre-text of being Indian origin grey fabric, as import from India has been banned.

The SHC bench asked the Customs to prove that the goods in dispute are of Indian origin and not Chinese origin as claimed by the importers. The instant appeals sought stay against order of release.

The bench held that no case for grant of interim relief is made out, accordingly the stay applications are dismissed.
