KARACHI: Notices were issued for August 22 to Pakistan Customs Valuation and other respondents by an appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan here on Monday.
The bench earlier heard consul for petitioner companies including Global Traders and ZI Enterprises. The issue involved is enhancement of custom value by the Director Valuation who allegedly in violation of Section 25 of the Customs Act 1969 unilaterally ordered collection of duty and other levies at higher rate than determined in the Valuation Ruling. Interestingly hundreds of petitions involving same law point are fixed for hearing on Tuesday, Aug 22.
