KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reconstituted the Allotment Committee for allotment of residential accommodation owned by FBR field formations.
Chief collector Enforcement South will head the committee while Collector MCC Appraisement West, Collector MCC Preventive Karachi, Director Training & Research Karachi and Director Post Clearance Audit will be the members.
The committee will convene a meeting on August 30, 2016 to review the pending requests as well as availability of accommodations. All the allotments would be through the approval of newly constituted committee.
Meanwhile, another committee is being formed which would inspect and physically visit the accommodations owned by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), sources said.
This committee is formed to confirm the veracity of information that several officials having allotments do not actually live in the official residence. These officials are living in the posh areas of the city and the official residence allotted to them are either under the use of their servants, relatives or are rented out.
Sources said that this practice deprive deserving officials from the official accommodation on one hand, while on the other the atmosphere and condition of the official residential are also destroyed.
