KARACHI: A divisional bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Anwar Hussain on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by S.Q. Corporation challenging increased Advanced Income Tax.

The petitioner impugned the SRO 140 of 2013 which revoked the 4 per cent concession on Advance Income Tax making it 5 per cent.

Today when the petition came up for hearing, the counsel for petitioner Barrister Kamal Azfar was called absent.

Kashif Nazeer Advocate appearing for the respondents including Commissioner Income Tax, Land revenue submitted that an identical petition has been dismissed by Balochistan High Court on merit. He also sought disposal of the instant petition on merit.

The bench however dismissed the petition for “Non Prosecution”.
