KARACHI: A single bench of Custom Appellate Tribunal headed by Abdul Basit Chaudhry, Member technical-I dismissed an appeal no 762/2022 filed by Ansari Brothers which imported a consignment of Adul Sex Toys (Male Dildo) with machine and without machine.
The appeal was directed against an Order in Appeal passed by Collector of Custom (Appeals), Karachi which ordered confiscation of the consignment for being imported in violation of Section 16 of Customs Act 1969 read with section 3 (1) of the Import & Export Control Act 1950.
The Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigations detained the goods after examination as Gd was selected for scrutiny. The items declared to be contraceptives but when examined were found to be banned under Import Policy Order in vogue which bars import of obscene goods.
Dr Shahnawa Memon represented the appellant importer while D.I.T was represented by Muzaffar Ali Advocate. The tribunal held that it finds no legal grounds to upset the Order in Appeal and that Appellate authority has passed a comprehensive order.
