KARACHI: Deciding application made by Pakistan Customs for release of security amounts in respect of consignments covered under 7 identical petitions, a division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Adnan-ul-Karim Memon and Justice Adnan Iqbal Choudhry ordered Nazir of SHC to disburse principal amount of securities in favor of Pakistan Customs.
The bench also ordered that profit on such securities which remained with Nazir of SHC shall be released to the petitioners/importers.
Rana Sakhawat Ali Advocate represented the petitioners including Danish Impex, Saeed-ul-Hassan, and S.H. Sons. Pakistan Customs was represented by Sardar Zafar Hussain advocate.
The bench parting with the judgment ordered that if Customs Appellate Tribunal stays recovery in the mean while, this order shall cease to have effect.
