KARACHI: A custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh has issued notice to alleged contemnor, Collector of Customs, Appraisement (East) Karachi and ordered his personal appearance before the bench on May 19.
The order came in an application filed by Messer’s Pest Management Services (Pvt) Limited which says that SHC bench vide judgment dated 27.04.2026 dismissed SCRA No 25 of 2026 filed by the department affirming the order passed by the Customs Appellate Tribunal. The tribunal has ordered re-export of the goods in dispute under Para 20 (d) of the Import Policy Order, 2022.
As the order was not implemented despite chances available to the department, the bench issued notice of contempt to the Collector and also to the Advocate General Sindh to assist the court in contempt proceedings including framing of charge if any.
The applicant is represented by Barrister Suaban Tasleem and Muhammad Rashid Khan Mahar Advocate.
