KARACHI: A custom appellate bench upheld confiscation of a Toyota Corolla car used in smuggling of Betel nuts while deciding the case being identical to one reported as PTCL 2026, CL 134.
The bench earlier heard Sardar Zafar Hussain Advocate counsel for Pakistan Customs Enforcement in a Special Customs Reference Application (SCRA 128 of 2025) against Sameer Hussan. The main question of law proposed was that Whether the Customs Appellate Tribunal has erred in law by ordering release of Toyota Corolla (GLI) used for transportation of smuggled betel nuts.
Sardar Zafar Hussain relied on a recent judgment by SHC custom bench cited above and said that this SCRA is covered under such judgment.
No one appeared for the respondent side after which the bench ordered application of said judgment mutatis mutandis while disposing of the same in favor of Customs Enforcement.
