KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Agha Faisal and Justice Jan Ali Junejo disposed of two identical petitions filed by Director General, Intelligence & Investigations (I&I), Karachi in view of Supreme Court judgments covering the identical questions of law.

Earlier Khalid Mehmood Rajpar Advocate appeared for the applicant department and submitted that respondents have been avoiding adjudication since three years. He informed the bench about substituted service and submitted excerpts from the newspapers.

Khalid Mehmood Rajpar relied on  Judgments 2026 PTCL (CL) 134 and 2026 PTCL (CL) 654 maintaining that questions proposed in instant SCRA’s are not that of first impression and have been conclusively decided by the apex court and therefore can be applied mutatis mutandis.

The bench agreeing to such arguments ordered disposal of SCRA’s accordingly with directions to its office to send decision to the Registrar of Custom Appellate Tribunal at Karachi.
