KARACHI: Implementation of Delay Detention Certificate is obligatory, absolute, enforceable and mandatory, reiterates a constitutional bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed and Justice Muhammad Osman Ali Hadi while hearing a constitutional petition filed by one Asghar Ali through Rana Sakahwat Ali Advocate.
As the petition was taken up, Sardar Zafar Hussain Advocate appearing for Pakistan customs. SAPT Collectorate assured the bench that delay detention certificate will be implemented in accordance with the principle laid down by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Civil Appeal No 99/2025 titled Shaheen Airport Services V/s Messer’s Yasir Traders & Others.
After such statement the bench observing that the petition has apparently served its purpose, disposed off the petition accordingly.
