Islamabad: In a major change to government work policies, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that all its offices—both at headquarters and in the field—will remain open on Fridays as usual.
The decision came after a meeting of the government committee responsible for monitoring conservation and austerity measures on Wednesday.
In a notification issued on March 11, the FBR also confirmed that a previous rule allowing up to 50% of staff to work from home on alternate days will no longer apply to its offices. This means all employees are expected to report to work physically.
The directive applies to all FBR headquarters members, Directors General, and heads of field formations. They have been instructed to strictly follow the new orders.
The move marks a return to normal working hours for the country’s tax collection body.
