KARACHI: Deciding nine identical Revision Petitions filed by importers of Refrigeration gasses impugning customs value determined by Director Valuation, Director General, Directorate General of Customs Valuation has rescinded customs value determined pertaining to refrigeration gasses while ordering fresh determination within preferably in three week time.

Messer’s Atee & Co and S.A.K industries filed the revision petitions through Franklin Law Associates while remaining petitioners are Saqib Industries, Nile Trading. Abdullah Enterprise, Delite Refrigeration Concern, Luck Corporation, Talha Enterprises and Katys.

The counsel from Franklin Law Associates argued that values determined are higher than the transactional values. It was also argued that impugned Valuation Ruling No  2033/2026 dated 07.01.2026 is legally flawed as it dis-regards the mandatory sequential application of valuation methods prescribed under Section 25 of the Customs Act 1969.

The Director General Valuation after hearing the sides found legal infirmities and violation of mandatory sequential method and basis of such finding the  custom values determined were rescinded and Director Valuation was asked to conduct a fresh exercise for determination of custom values of imported goods within three weeks.
