KARACHI: A custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Agha Faisal and Justice Jawad Akbar Sarwana admitted a Special Customs Reference Application (SCRA) filed by Director General of Customs Valuation against Messer’s Fine Daily Private Limited, Karachi.
Sardar Zafar Hussain Advocate appearing for the applicant department proposed four questions of law foremost being that whether the Valuation department can refer to LME prices for determination of values in the light of proviso of Section 25-A (1) of Customs Act 1969.
The bench after a brief hearing ordered issuance of notices to the respondents for a date to be fixed later by the office of the court.
