KARACHI: A petition filed by M/s Silver Enterprises against increasing demurrage charges in respect of certain consignment was adjourned till Feb 09 after customs department offered moving the goods into bond if Petitioner makes such an application.

As the petition came up for hearing before Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed and Justice Osman Ali Hadi, a representative from Plant Protection Department, Deputy Attorney General and Customs department made appearance and sought time to file comments.

The counsel for Petitioner drew attention of the court towards incurring demurrage charges due to delay in clearance of the goods/consignments.

Sardar Zafar Hussain advocate appearing for Pakistan Customs at this stage offered that if petitioner makes an application for consignment to be moved into bond, the same would be entertained without undue delay.

The bench after this statement adjourned further proceedings till Feb 09 allowing the respective litigants to do the needful.
