KARACHI: A constitutional petition filed by Messer’s Abbas 7 Sons against cancellation of its license in year 2012 was disposed of by a division bench of High Court of Sindh, directing the Customs Collectorate, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim to decide the application within 45 days.
Earlier Aqil Ahmed Advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that grievance of the Petitioner dates back to the year 2012 and emanates from a letter dated 31.08.2012 issued by the Assistant Collector, Model Custom Collectorate (MCC) Port Muhammad Bin Qasim which suspended/blocked Petitioner’s License as a Clearing Agent.
The counsel said that various requests were made by the Petitioner for restoration of License with the last being dated 27.08.2025. The counsel said that he will be satisfied if directions are given to the competent authority to decide the matter within a specified time frame.
Sardar Zafar Hussain representing the Custom Collectorate did not oppose such request after which the bench disposed of the petition with directions to the competent forum to decide the matter through a speaking order within 45 days.
