KARACHI: The Federal Tax Ombudsman Dr Asif Mehmood Jah deciding a complaint filed by Junaid Siddiqui of Infinite Traders, through Naveed Wasti Advocate, recommended to the FBR to direct the Collector of Customs Appraisment, Islamabad to de-block the WeBOC ID/NTN of the complainant and to implement the Order in Original passed by the Collector of Customs (Adjudication) Islamabad within 30 days.
As per customs complainant imported and declared a consignment to be consisting of 11,250 pieces (Swetars/Jacket) but upon physical examination the number of items found to be 36,732 pieces after which a contravention was prepared and a F.I.R was also lodged.
The Collector of Customs (Adjudication) passing the Order in Original ordered re-assessment and release of goods on payment of duty and taxes along with 20 per cent redemption fine. The customs did not implement the said order and instead blocked the WeBOC ID against which the complaint was filed.
