KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) restrained Collector of Custom Appraisement, East and Additional Collector (Facilitation Mechanism) from taking coercive action against A.N. Pipe Industries Lahore till next date of hearing fixed to be 16-10-2025.

The bench heard Imran Iqbal Khan Advocate, counsel for petitioner company who submitted that goods of the petitioner were duly examined, assessed as Prime Hot Rolled Steel Sheets in Coils and were cleared for gate out, however by the time two rolls were left, the Appraisement West placed a hold on said coils on the pre-text that  there is an issue of classification of the goods.

The petitioner’s counsel submitted that such an act is mala-fide.

The bench after hearing the counsel ordered issuance of notices to the respondents besides Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan for 16-10-2025.
