ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced Friday the promotion of two senior customs officers to the highest bureaucratic grade.
Wajid Ali, previously a BS-21 officer serving as Member (Customs-Policy) at the FBR headquarters in Islamabad, has been promoted to BS-22. He will retain his current position. The FBR also upgraded the Member (Customs-Policy) post to BS-22 specifically for Ali for as long as he holds the position.
Simultaneously, Rabab Sikandar, formerly a BS-21 officer posted as Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (Punjab) in Lahore, was promoted to BS-22. She will continue in her current role. Similar to Ali’s case, the Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (Punjab) post in Lahore has been upgraded to BS-22 personally for Sikandar while she remains in charge.
The promotions are effective immediately, according to official notifications issued by the FBR’s Secretary (M/HR.C-I), Muhammad Moazzam Raza, on July 18, 2025.
The notification for Sikandar specifies that if she was receiving a performance allowance before her promotion, she will continue to receive it in her new BS-22 role.
BS-22 represents the highest grade within Pakistan’s civil service structure. Both officers are members of the Pakistan Customs Service.
