KARACHI: As ordered by a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh, counsel for Pakistan Customs, Sardar Zafar Hussain complied with the directives and submitted a report.
The benches of Custom Appellate Tribunal are fully functional and hearing appeals. The bench comprises of a Member Judicial and a Member Technical as per order of Chairman of Tribunal, the report said.
The SHC sought the report as a petitioner filed a constitutional petition seeking provisional release of goods maintaining that appellate tribunal is not functioning.
The report submitted today is supported by a number of notifications/circular issued on behalf of the chairman Custom Appellate Tribunal wherein benches were formed in a proper manner.
