KARACHI: Police of Thana Bula Khan, District Jamshoro on a tip off intercepted four cars piloted by a fifth one and during search recovered 5500 packets of Indian origin Gutka and Mainpuri contained in 109 bags.

The police arrested the drivers namely Gul Ahmed Maingal, Mehboob Ali Shoro, Aamir Ali Mahar and Muhammad Amin Magsi while their hadler Dawood Brohi managed to escape. The arrested persons were booked under Control of Narcotics Substances Act. As per initial investigations, the contra bands were brought from Balochistan via Kohistan area to Sindh for onward distribution in different area of Sindh. They had local support and local handlers who took their booty from smuggling of narcotics, police officer associated with investigations maintained.

As per police investigations, drug peddlers have become active in the Kohistab Mahal area of Taluka Thano Bula Khan and were allegedly being patronized by political figures. Police after recovery and arrest is investigating further to unearth the entire ring.
