KARACHI: The goods imported by L’oreal Pakistan were ordered to be released as importer company offered payment of un-disputed amount of duty and taxes with the Collectorate while disputed amount secured before Nazir of High Court of Sindh. Qazi Umair Ali advocate appearing for the petitioner company made the offer. Sardar Zafar Hussain represented Pakistan Customs.
After hearing the sides bench held that consignment is incurring risk of diminution and storage charges at the Port. The bench agreed to the proposal by the petitioner asking it to secure the two amounts. The Nazir was directed to issue appropriate certificate once amounts of un-disputed duty and taxes are paid and differential amount is also secured. The bench disposing off the petition with application, also ordered forthwith release of goods once government revenue is secured.
