KARACHI: Special Court, Customs, Taxation & Anti Smuggling-I, Karachi admitted one Hameedullah Khan S/o Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar to bail against a surety of rupees 200,000 and Personal Bond in the like amount. Umer Farooq Advocate argued the bail plea of applicant booked in a case of alleged attempt to smuggle Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets to Sierra Leone.

The case was registered by Pakistan Customs Enforcement after it raided a container booked under GD No KPEX-SB-161975-09032025 by consignor Ahmad Trading foe export to M/s MS Corporation, Free town Sierra Leone through clearing agent M/s Speed Line Private Limited. The GD declared the  goods to be of  170 cartons of towel weighing  6100 Kgs and were routed through Green Channel based on RMS profile.

Umer Farooq Advocate arguing the bail contended that accused was neither names in FIR nor in the interim challan. No specific role was assigned to the applicant and only vague element against applicant is of broker which is not connected to the main offence of smuggling.

The learned trial court judge said that at this stage prosecution does not have sufficient evidence to connect the applicant with the main offence. His case is of further investigations and hence if he is given the benefit of bail, it would not affect the prosecution’s case.

The trial court judge with the above observation, admitted the accused to bail against furnishing of solvent surety of rupees 200,000 and Personal Bond in the like amount.
