KARACHI: A constitutional bench of High Court of Sindh ordered issuance of contempt of court notices upon Chief Executive and Company Secretary of Agar International (Pvt) Limited for June 03,2025.

The order came during hearing of a petition CP-D 2107 of 2025 filed through  Manzar Hussain Memon advocate who maintained that a demand notice has been served on the petition without any adjudication.

Sardar Zafar Hussain Advocate, counsel for Pakistan Customs appeared and filed a statement on behalf of the respondent Custom Officials. It was submitted that demand was preceded by an entire adjudication process and an Order in Original have also been issued. The ONO was placed on record of the court which factum was concealed by the petitioner from the court.

The bench took strong exception to such a conduct and observed that petition is found to be prima facie misconceived and abuse of the process of Court. The bench dismissed the same noting that  ONO was passed on 16.01.2025 and petition was filed on 20.5.2025.

The bench ordered issuance of Show Cause Notice under section 17, sub-section2 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance 2003 to the Chief Executive and Company Secretary through SHO concerned. The SHO was directed to produce the alleged contemnors before court on 3.6.2025.
