KARACHI: Shehazad booked by RTO-I, Zone III in FIR No 1/2025 for violation of different sections of Sales Tax Act was discharged by the Special Court for Customs, Excise, Sale tax, Taxation Court presided by Rehmatullah Mooro. The accused was represented by Ahmed Masood Advocate while Nadeem Yaseen appeared for the State.
The court considered an application filed by IO of the case seeking further physical custody remand of the accused. The counsel for applicant accused opposed the application for extension of physical remand and argued his application filed under Section 63 of Cr.P.C. The counsel referred to recent judgments of the Sindh High Court particularly in CP-D 881/2025 and others on identical issue.
The special judge after hearing the sides held that he is convinced by arguments advanced by counsel for applicant/accused. The accused was discharged with the direction to submit a solvent surety of rupees 500,000 and Personal Bond in the like amount with the directions to cooperate with the IO.
