KARACHI: A custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) allowed a Special Custom Reference Application (524 of 2022) filed by Gadoon Textile Mills Limited, Karachi challenging the powers of custom authorities for recovery of short levied amount of Sales Tax/Income Tax.
The bench noted that issue/question raised in the SCRA already stands decided in a case titled Nestle Pakistan Limited v/s Federal Board of Revenue (2023 PTD 527). The bench with the above observation allowed the SCRA in favor of the applicant mills and against the customs.
