Karachi: Hearing a Special Customs Reference Application filed by Collector of Customs SAPT (South Asia Pacific Terminal), a custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Acting Chief Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar and Justice Mohammad Abdur Rahman suspend the impugned judgment in Custom Appeal No K-2666/2024.
The SCRA was filed through Agha Shahid Majeed Advocate against one Juma Khan S/o Wazir who imported a consignment of submersible pumps declaring capacity to a lower level. The matter was adjudicated against the respondent but the custom appellate tribunal passed judgment in favor of respondent. The case involved an amount of rupees 25,000,000 paid a surety. Zain Jatoi advocate represented the respondent importer at Show Cause Stage and later in adjudication proceedings. Both these forums ruled against the respondent.
