KARACHI: In a significant operation, Pakistan Customs at the International Mail Office, Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi, intercepted a package containing half a kilogram of marijuana. The narcotics, valued at approximately Rs. 2,500,000, originated from Bangkok, Thailand.

The intended recipient, identified as Mr. James from Khayaban-e-Badr, Karachi, is now under investigation. Customs officials have confiscated the package and are working to identify and apprehend those involved in the smuggling attempt.

Authorities have indicated that the individuals involved could face charges of narcotics trafficking and the importation of controlled substances. The investigation will include a forensic analysis of the seized marijuana, tracing the sender and recipient, and uncovering the extent of the narcotics network.

This seizure highlights the ongoing efforts of Pakistan Customs at JIAP to combat international narcotics trafficking and safeguard the nation from illegal substances. Collector Adeem Khan, Additional Collector Muhammad Faisal, and Deputy Collector Hammad have tightened vigilance at the airport, ensuring that even the smallest quantities of illegal substances are detected.
