Karachi: In a major crackdown on smuggling, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement in Karachi seized a large quantity of foreign-origin Crockery, Plastic Dana and Plastic Shoppers from two godowns in SITE area, Manghopir Road, on the night of February 4-5, 2024.

The operation was carried out by the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of the Collectorate, under the supervision of Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi and the guidance of Chief Collector Yaqoob Mako.

The ASO team, led by Deputy Collector Syed Muhammad Raza Naqvi, acted on a credible tip-off that some smugglers had stashed the goods in the godowns of Ayesha Compound.

The team raided the godowns and recovered a substantial quantity of smuggled Irani Crockery, Plastic Dana and Plastic Shoppers, valued at Rs. 41.35 million in the market. The goods were seized under the Customs Act, 1969, and further legal action is being taken against the culprits.

This operation was part of the ongoing anti-smuggling drive across the city, initiated by the Customs Enforcement, Karachi, to curb the menace of smuggling and protect the national economy.
