KARACHI: Sindh Rangers is fully active against smuggling across the province and conducted several raids/operations in Karachi including at Gadap, SITE Superhighway, Ganna Mandi, New sabzi mandi, Sohrab goth, Indus chok, Northern Bypass, Gulshan Maymar and Neti Jetty bridge in Kemari.
Rangers recovered large quantity of smuggled diesel, petrol, engine oil, generator and an unlicensed pistol. Three persons identified as Javed, Saleem and Sarwar were also arrested. Five trucks and one Mazada vehicle were also seized.
The seized goods and arrested accused have been handed over to Customs.
Sources said sensitive agencies have collected the details of leading diesel smugglers and they have gone underground. In the coming days, large scale arrests of smugglers are anticipated.
