HYDEABAD: ASO Customs Enforcement Sukkur has recovered large quantity of Smuggled Indian origin goods at National Highway.

Consequent upon receipt of information from Collector Hyderabad Enforcement Mumtaz Khosa to Assistant Collector Amjad Lal Junejo that a huge quantity of smuggled Indian goods i.e. Sulphur 80% WDG are being transported from Karachi to Lahore through a vehicle.

Subsequently, a team of anti smuggling organization Sukkur led by In-Charge Haresh Kumar spotted a truck, which was signaled to stop but driver forcefully crossed the checking point and tried to run away, after long chase the vehicle was found along the road-side and the driver ran away taking advantage of darkness near National Highway, Shah Hussain By Pass, Khairpur Mirs.

During checking of the container mounted on the said vehicle, it was apparently found loaded with Sulphur 80%, WDG (Made in India) in P.P bags and it was also found that a GD, which showed the import of 2880 bags of “potassium sulphate” from United Arab Emirates Gross weight 72000 Kg along with a bilty of M/s Adil Ramzan Goods Transport.

The goods worth Rs15.1 million and vehicle valuing Rs6 million have been seized and an FIR is lodged. Investigations are underway.
