An official said the unexpected transfers are continuing as an officer seasoned in enforcement, intelligence and investigation affairs like Faiz Ahmed is transferred, while he has been quite efficiently leading the anti-smuggling campaign and securing government revenue.

Earlier, Abdul Qadir Memon was transferred from the office of Chief Collector Baluchistan. The official said the smugglers mafia was very strong and had close connections in the government circles. It was not the first time that the officers acting against organized smuggling were transferred.

Shakeel Shah is appointed Director General I&I. Although, Mr. Shah is a very high profile officer, but he lacks experience in enforcement, I&I, or Appraisment, as he had spent most of his time on assignments abroad.
