QUETTA: Customs Quetta has seized large quantity of smuggled mobile phones and watches along with a Toyota vehicle worth Rs52.4 million.
On the directives of Assistant Collector Asad Aleem, the staff posted at Yaroo check post was highly alert. Meanwhile, a passenger car coming from Chaman side towards Quetta was signaled to stop. Driver managed to escape.
During strict checking certain goods were found concealed in car fittings. The staff of Customs Enforcement, Yaroo asked for legal documents of the goods recovered but no one came forward to claim the goods or produce any legal documents thereof.
Therefore, the staff of Field Enforcement Yaroo Check Post took the possession of the recovered goods along with Fielder Axio Car and seized the same. Further investigation is underway. It may be mentioned here despite shortage of resources, Customs Enforcement Quetta is rigorously pursuing the anti-smuggling drive, and has made many high value cases.
