QUETTA: Customs Quetta Enforcement has seized large quantity of Hashish/charas from a Toyota car, which was being transferred from Quetta to other cities. The value of the seized narcotics is Rs80 million.

In pursuance of an authentic information received from Collector Customs Enforcement Quetta Sami-ul-Haq that huge quantity of Narcotics Substance will be smuggled towards other cities from Quetta in a corolla car.

On the instructions of Additional Collector Afzal Ali, staff of Customs FEU Lakpass started patrolling on Quetta Karachi RCD Highway and near Sona Khan police station a Toyota Corolla Indus car coming from Quetta side was signaled to stop but the driver accelerated the speed.

Customs staff chased the said vehicle, the driver sensed the situation and accelerated more speed and after a long chase the driver parked the vehicle at road side and fled away to a nearby small village taking advantage of darkness.

Furthermore, the vehicle was brought back to the premises of FEU Lakpass and on thorough search recovered Hashish/Charas concealed in special designed cavities made in the doors and back seat of the aforesaid corolla.

Led by Assistant Collector Shehryar Waseem, Customs staff comprising Inspectors Shabbir Khan, Muhammad Essa, Ishaq George and others took possession of said narcotics substance and seized the entire quantity of Hashish/Charas i.e. 160Kgs along with the vehicle.

FIR has been lodged. Further investigation is underway.

On the directives of Chief Collector Enforcement Abdul Qadir Memon, Collector Enforcement Quetta Sami-ul-Haq has tightened the noose against smuggling and strict crackdown is underway. Despite severe political pressure, Chief Collector and Collector Enforcement are rigorously pursuing their campaign.
