Ltd, Haider Ali Faran of M/s Shippo Pakistan Saif Ur Rahman s/o Raza Khan of M/s Saif Ur Rahman & Brothers, lmran Khan s/o Saif Ur Reitman, of M/s. Saif-ur-Rehrnan & Brothers, Ahmed Mubbashar Shaff, Shaukat Ullah Khan (driver), Mohammad Mujtaba Khan of M/s Emirates Logistics and Mubashar Asad, Director of M/s Emirates Logistics (bonded carrier) intentionally and willingly attempted to smuggle the goods worth Rs30.483 million and evade duty and taxes of Rs19.07 million.

Customs Enforcement submitted interim-challan in an FIR pertaining to replacement of TP cargo and informed the court that further investigations are underway.

According to details, information was passed through Additional Collector Honnak Baloch regarding pilferage of TP shipments during the transit. Subsequently, Deputy Collector Inamullah Wazir formed a team, which intercepted a truck off-route from main Super Highway. Driver of the vehicle could not provide any documentary evidence proving legal possession of the goods.

Preliminary inquiry found the consignment was imported by M/s Saif ur Rehman & Brothers on behalf of M/s Shippo.

After completion of process the subject consignment was allowed to gate out on the vehicle bearing registration number TLX-472. This vehicle was registered as a bonded carrier vehicle with M/s Saif-ur-Relunan & Brothers.

But when the container (subject consignment) was intercepted it was laden on vehicle number TLB-631 which was not moving to destination as mentioned by the bonded carrier of M/s Shippo Pakistan Private Limited.

Thereafter, the record of this Collectorate was checked minutely and found that the driver Shoukatullah Khan son of Rehmatullah Khan was involved in another FIR and convicted by the learned Trial Court and the vehicle registration number TLB-631 was confiscated by the adjudication authority and then redeemed in lieu of confiscation on payment of fine.

In addition to that it is imperative to bring the criminal record of use of vehicle TLB-631 registered with M/s Emirate Logistics (Pvt) Ltd bonded carrier in smuggling, pilferage of bonded goods and transportation of smuggled goods in different areas of the country.

It may be mentioned here that the drivers of such vehicles used in smuggling are so well trained and loyal to their masters that when caught they assume all responsibility claiming they diverted the consignment for pilferage on their own behest exonerating the real culprits.
