LAHORE: Customs Appraisement Central has collected Custom Duty of Rs58.04 billion duty July 01, 2021 to May 14, 2022 (approximately nine months), up 61 per cent compared with last year’s collection of Rs36.05 billion, and 39 per cent higher than the target of Rs41.9 billion.

Chief Collector Central Faiz Ahmed has been instrumental in plugging loopholes such as under-invoicing and mis-declaration, which resulted in a remarkable growth in collection. Faiz Ahmed is a very competent and well reputed officer having significant experience of Appraisement. Faiz Ahmed has also served abroad.

Led by Collector Ambreen Tarar, MCC Appraisement Lahore collected Custom duty of Rs30.5 billion, up 23 per cent compared with last year’s collection of Rs24.9 billion and 2 per cent higher than the target of Rs29.9 billion.

Led by Collector Sadia Muneeb, MCC Appraisement Faisalabad collected Custom duty of Rs28.69 billion, up 135 per cent compared with last year’s collection of Rs15.25 billion and 88 per cent higher than the target of Rs15.25 billion.

During first two weeks of May, 2022, Appraisement Central collected Custom duty of Rs3.01 billion, up 164 per cent compared with May 2021’s collection of Rs1.14 billion.
