KARACHI: Customs Gwadar has lodged an FIR against unidentified persons for smuggling narcotics.
On the directives of Gwadar Collector Chaudery Jawaid, the ASO team of Collectorate of Customs Gwadar led by Assistant Collector Ali Haider in assistance with Pakistan Navy initiated a joint patrol off the coast of Pasni.
The team detected a boat laden with bags in haphazard manner which gave credence to the suspicion based on intel. The boat was signalled to stop but it sped away towards coast taking the advantage of night the unscrupulous elements dumped hashish and fled away.
Subsequently, the narcotics was seized and FIR is being lodged accordingly against unknown persons. The value of the narcotics in the international market comes out to be Rs675 million.
Samples drawn for forensic lab test in presence of witnesses. Further investigation is underway.
