KARACHI: Customs Enforcement Karachi has seized 31,770 liters of Irani diesel from two boats in the coastal area of Baluchistan.

Information was passed through Collector Feroz Alam Junejo to Additional Collector Honak Baloch that attempts would be made to smuggle Irani diesel into the country via sea.

Acting on the intel, Deputy Collector commissioned patrolling of the Anti-Smuggling Squad of Customs Enforcement Karachi in the sea.

During the course, two wooden launches namely Al-Ghaus Baksh and Al-Irfani registered in Gwadar.

The subject boats were intercepted and the checking led to recovery of large quantity of diesel worth Rs2.45 million. The diesel was seized and boats valuing Rs10 million were confiscated while two persons namely Noor-ul-Haq and Akhter Khan were arrested.

Further investigations are under way.
