KARACHI: Directorate of IPR Enforcement South has seized large quantity of counterfeit mobile batteries, and power banks along with cosmetics and fashion accessories.

As an anti counterfeiting enforcement directorate, THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF IPRE and IPRE South has worked hard to create an efficient and effective intellectual property infrastructure to curb money laundering through imports of infringed/counterfeit items.

On the directives of Member Customs Tariq Huda and Director General IPRE Rubab Sikander, Director IPRE South Ms Nyma Batool has intensified the anti-counterfeit drive by carrying out risk analysis and strict enforcement.

Recently, IPRE South seized and forfeited large quantity of counterfeit mobile batteries of different brands including Xiomi, Huawei, Samsung, Motorola, Techno, intel, etc. Fake power banks of Huawei and Xiomi, in original packing etc. Such counterfeits not only destroy the consumer market of these brands, but also cause heavy loss to the local buyers. Local Pakistanis are fooled into buying these low quality, fake products at the price of original branded ones!

With high inflation, new taxes, and rise in prices of all consumer items, Directorate General of IPRE is playing it’s part by creating awareness, and discouraging the imports of such infringed items.
