KARACHI: Riaz Ahmed, Regulator of Trade Organizations (TOs) of Directorate General of Trade Organizaiton (DGTO) has constituted a two member committee to inquire into alleged irregularities conducted in elections of Healthcare Devices Association of Pakistan.
The regulator was hearing a “post election complaint” filed by Sheikh Muhammad Tarqi and others against HDAP seeking annulment of elections of hdap for year 2021-22 on ground that newly elected members of HDAP have not fulfilled the criteria for membership and in some cases even their membership was not renewed and even fake voters were included in the voter list during election under challenge.
The counsel for HDAP failed in producing any record to rebut these allegations. The regulator after hearing the counsel for complainants as well as HDAP held that annulment of elections is a serious issue and under the circumstances it is the duty of the DGTO to inquire into the matter. The Regulator than formed a two member inquiry committee comprising Muhammad Arifullah, Director and Salman Jamil, Deputy Director.
