Customs Quetta seizes smuggled goods worth Rs200mn

QUETTA: Customs Quetta has foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantity of foreign origin goods, and seized smuggled items worth Rs200 million.

Information was passed through Collector Dr. Fareed Salarzai to Additional Collector Moin Afzal regarding movement of smuggled goods through Ziarat Cross. Deputy Collector Dr. Zohaib Sandela formed a team to foil the attempt.

Customs Quetta intercepted one Hino Truck. Checking led to the recovery of large quantity of betel nut, milk powder, tyres, cosmetics and cigarettes.

Value of the seized goods are worth Rs120 million. Investigations are underway.

It may be mentioned here Member Customs Tariq Huda has advised all formations to take stringent measures to control smuggling.
