HYDERABAD: In the continuation of the ongoing efforts to curb the menace of smuggling with full vigor and energy, MCC Hyderabad has once again affected a severe blow the smugglers of contraband goods.

In recent such incident acting on the information received by the Collector Hyderabad to Additional Collector Asim Rehman, and then to the ASO teams Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad, jointly conducted a raid at a warehouse in Kot Ghulam Muhammad and seized contraband goods along with some other miscellaneous smuggled goods.

The goods include Betel Nuts, Zafran Pan Masala, Different Tobacco and Packing Material for Gutkha.

The total estimated worth of the case is about Rs. 3 million. This is yet another strong message sent by MCC Hyderabad to the unscrupulous elements involved in the smuggling of contraband goods that zero tolerance would be shown to those paying with the health of general public through smuggling of these items having hazardous and harmful effects.

The Collector applauded the ASO teams and also directed field units to step up such efforts.

MCC Hyderabad has made seizures with Rs. 128 million during the current month. Besides, narcotics with Rs. 65 million had been seized. It is worth mentioning that the target of the Custom Collectorate Hyderabad for the first quarter was successfully achieved and the collection of goods cost Rs458 million.
