SHC order further limit scope for petitioners in custom matters

KARACHI: A custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) ordered that issue of release of goods which fell under non prohibition on the basis of Goods Declaration could not be brought to SHC under Article 199 of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973.

The order was passed in a Constitution Petition number CP-D 2729/2019 filed by Messers M.F.Enterprises in which Federal Secretary Revenue, XCollector of Customs Appraisement, West and Director of Intellectual Property Rights were cited as respondents.

When the matter was taken up, the petitioner as well his counsel were not in attendance. The bench with above order dismissed the petition for non-prosecution.
