KARACHI: Tando Muhammad Khan Police has recovered large quantity of chewing tobacco (Maim Puri) material from the official Toyota Hilux (Surf) of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi (I&I Karachi).
The recovered contraband stuff includes maim puri mixture, safina gutka, mobile phones and cash. Information was passed through SDPO Balri Shah Kareem, Syed Mujahid Ali to SHO Police Station Inspector Qamar Zaman Rahimo and Police Post Kapur Muri.
Snap checking was tightened and the suspected official vehicle of I&I Karachi was stopped. Checking of the vehicle led to recovery of maim puri (4300 packets), 12 bags of hazardous raw material, two mobile phones and cash.
The arrested officials include Lappo driver Muhammad Anwar and Cook Budhu Junejo of I&I Karachi. A case has been registered and proceedings are underway.
