Customs Quetta seized NCP vehicles worth Rs60 million

QUETTA: In a joint operation with FC, Customs Quetta seized 17 non custom paid (NCP) vehicles at Naukandi worth Rs60 million.

Upon directions of Member Federal Board of Revenue Tariq Huda and Chief Collector Customs (Balochistan) Gul Rehman to intensify the anti-smuggling drive, Collector Irfan Javed, Additional Collector Umar Shafique, Deputy Collectors Akbar Jan and Dr. Zohaib accelerated  anti-smuggling drive and increased the monitoring of routes leading from Pak-Afghan & Pak-Iran borders.

Collector Quetta Irfan Javed said the crack down on smuggled vehicles and showrooms dealing in such vehicles will be expended to the other parts of the province.

A strategy regarding the joint campaign with law enforcement and intelligence agencies has been devised, he said.

Moreover, Customs staff of Ziarat Cross Post has detained a truck carrying 12.5 tons contraband / smuggled goods from Quetta to Punjab. Seizure value alongwith vehicle is worth Rs.15 million.
